Hummus Dip (No Olive Oil!!!)

Hummus Dip (No Olive Oil!!!)

I think I just made us enough hummus dip for two weeks but that's okay - it came out delicious!!!! Enjoy!!!!

Note: I used a BAG of beans for the first time ever. (Way less sodium) I will go through that process as well but if you are using the canned beans, you can skip those steps :)

You Will Need:
1 1 lb. bag of chickpeas (garbanzo beans)
1/3 cup lemon juice
2 tsp. Garlic Salt
2 tsp. Pepper
2 tsp. Paprika
2 tsp. Crushed Red Pepper
1/3 cup Water

Directions:
1. Soak the beans in water in a covered bowl or tupperware overnight.

2. Place beans and water on stovetop - let them simmer, covered, on a low heat setting for 60-90 minutes (or until soft)

3. Combine all ingredients in a blender cup EXCEPT for the water - everyone will need a slightly different amount of water depending on your beans.

4. Blend until the mixture gets stuck and then gradually add your water! You can also taste test the hummus to see if you want more of any seasoning.

5. I blended and stopped about 4 times, adding a tiny bit of water each time. Remember, you can always add more liquid but if you put too much in you cannot take it back out!

6. Transfer to a storage container and sprinkle a bit more paprika on top to make it look pretty!

7. Enjoy with crackers, veggies, or on a sandwich/wrap!!!!
