Today's Menu: Clean Eating Apple Crisp!

Today's Menu: Clean Eating Apple Crisp!

It's APPLE SEASON! And last week Matt and I were so excited we bought WAY more apples than we knew what to do with :) So, we decided to make apple crisp!

You Will Need:
4-6 Apples
4 tablespoons of Maple Syrup
3/4 cup of Old Fashioned Oats
3 tablespoons of Whole Wheat Flour
3 tablespoons of Coconut Oil
3 tablespoons of Cinnamon

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees and thinly slice apples. (I used an apple slicer and then cut each slice in half again).

1a. OPTIONAL: You may also want to peel your apples, we kept the skin on because that is where all the fiber is!

2. Line a baking dish with apple slices, sprinkle with cinnamon and drizzle with syrup. Add another row, repeat the cinnamon and syrup. If you have more apples, start a third row and again add the cinnamon and syrup.
It should look like this...

3. Put the baking pan in the fridge. In a separate bowl, combine the following ingredients to make your topping: oats, flour, 3 tbsp. of maple syrup, cinnamon and coconut oil (melt coconut oil first!)

4. Place the topping over the apples and try to evenly spread it out.

5. Bake the apple crisp for 25-30 minutes, or until the apples are soft :)

ENJOY!
